Hello there, or as we say in my County of Yorkshire, 'ey-up'!
I appreciate your interest in my business. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce myself and share our mission for an inclusive world where everyone belongs with you.
In these times of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity, I believe I can assist your people and business to survive and thrive.
By collaborating with us and embracing the many advantages of Neurodiversity in your organisation, you're not just tickboxing; you're embarking on a journey of long-term investment in your people and your business.
Labels are for canned food, not people!
I'm Mike Bedford, the Founder and CEO of Bee-Brilliant People Development LTD.
As an Award-Winning Coaching Leader, HR, People, and Organisational Development Expert, I'm dedicated to guiding businesses like yours towards success. In 2023, I was honoured to be recognised as one of the Top 80 Neurodivergent Leaders in the UK to follow.
I look forward to working together and helping your business achieve its fullest potential.
We aim to ignite inspiration, provide valuable insights, and empower transformation. We are committed to creating improved opportunities for Neurodivergent individuals and guiding leaders and organisations in wholeheartedly embracing, empowering, and enabling Neurodiversity within their workforce.
I firmly believe that the workplace is where transformation is needed most. Collaborating with visionary leaders, decision-makers, and organisations unafraid to embrace change can usher in positive, lasting cultural shifts. These changes can pave the way for neuroinclusive workplaces, where every facet of neurodiversity is welcomed, cherished, and nurtured. This, in turn, fuels innovation and amplifies the diverse range of perspectives that drive workplace excellence.
I am committed to educating and raising the profile and awareness of Neurodiversity in the workplace and how organisations can benefit from the many strengths Neurodivergent people offer. I do this through a blend of storytelling and sharing my own lived experience.
But it's fair to say that I couldn't support and influence Leaders and Organisations to change solely based on storytelling, as powerful as it is. No, I draw upon over 25 years of experience working in large and complex Organisations, where I've developed and honed my skills and craft as a People Professional - specialising and qualified in HR, L&D, OD, ED&I and Coaching.
I blend lived experience, passion, and context with a hearty dose of pragmatism, expertise and knowledge of how to affect and influence change inside Organisations. I also bring a completely different perspective to anything I do.
Our mission is to improve the workplace and create cultures of belonging where everyone can thrive.
We offer a specialist consultancy service and a range of competitively priced awareness, training, coaching and people development solutions to support and underpin this critical work.
We live and breathe equity and belonging. Our whole ethos is built around empowering and enabling Neurodivergent Talent to thrive, but we believe this must be done through the lens of Intersectionality, as Neurodiversity cuts across boundaries and can affect us all as Human Beings, whether directly or indirectly. Neurodivergence is an equal-opportunity disability.
Why the Bee?
The Bee is a metaphor for being your authentic self and reinforces our core value of authenticity. We understand that most Neurodivergent people have spent their whole lives trying to fit in and, along the way, have lost or sacrificed who they are to fit in, be that in the workplace, education or society.
"You need to be yourself; you can't be no-one else"
~ Liam Gallagher, Oasis
We know, from lived experience and through our clients, what happens when you are forced to wear a mask in the workplace, to build a forcefield around you, to camouflage to "fit in", and to live your life in a way that is not authentically aligned with your values. It is mentally and physically exhausting, and we work with you to help prevent this toxic culture.
We believe that helping people be their authentic selves enables them to be the best version of themselves, which helps the business.
We are proud to think differently and use that diversity of thought as a competitive advantage in your service.
We are not your average consultancy business, nor do we aspire to be so. We exist to make a difference, which involves having challenging conversations and asking tough questions of you, your business and your culture, which we are not afraid to do. We are your critical friend.
Our vision is to take our message to a global audience and support Leaders and Organisations worldwide to embrace and understand Neurodiversity and to build cultures of belonging where everyone can be themselves and achieve their potential.
Simply put, we do not believe in barriers; we believe in smashing them down.
Our Core Values are at the very heart of everything that we do. We live and breathe these values and we only work with Leaders, Employers and Individuals who believe and share our values.
These are our our Core Values and we ask that when we fall short of these then we are called out and we will learn from our mistakes.
