Access to Work is a UK government-funded program overseen by the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) that provides financial assistance and support to help individuals with disabilities or long-term health conditions access and maintain employment. The program aims to remove barriers and provide accommodations to make it easier for individuals to work and succeed in their chosen careers.
Key features of the Access to Work program include:
To access the program, individuals must apply for Access to Work through the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The level of support and funding provided is based on an individual assessment of needs and the specific requirements of their job. Bee-Brilliant People Development and our associates can support you with this process.
To be eligible for support, a person must:
However, they may get it for a limited time if they do certain types of ‘permitted work’ to help them remove benefits completely.
If the person is a Civil Servant, their employer will provide support instead of Access to Work.
No, this is not a requirement.
Yes, you can access the Access to Work program if you are employed.
Under the Equality Act (2010), your employer has legal duties to make adjustments and accommodations to support you in work should you need these.
Access to Work is designed to support individuals with disabilities or long-term health conditions to find and maintain employment.
Whether you are seeking a job or already employed, you can apply for the program to receive assistance and accommodations to help you succeed in your workplace.
If you are currently employed and require workplace adjustments or accommodations due to your disability or health condition, you can apply for Access to Work support. The program can help cover the costs of these accommodations, such as assistive technology, support workers, transportation assistance, and more.
You must apply through the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to access the program. They will assess your needs and determine the level of support and funding you may receive based on your specific situation. Bee Brilliant People Development and our Associates can support you through the whole process and make sure you receive funding for Coaching as it is to support you whilst you in work by providing coping strategies and tools to help you thrive.
Access to Work aims to remove barriers and provide the necessary support to enable individuals with disabilities to fully participate in the workforce and excel in their chosen careers, whether they are seeking employment or are already employed.
Yes, if you’re employed, you should mention to your employer that you are applying for A2W. However, all that is required is an email address to confirm your employment status - your employer is not involved in the assessment itself.
If you are worried or anxious about speaking to your employer, don't worry, we can help you with this.
Access to Work will refund up to 80% of the approved costs between a threshold and £10,000 when cost sharing applies.
As the employer, you will contribute 100% of costs up to the threshold level and 20% of the costs between the threshold and £10,000.
The amount of the threshold is determined by the number of employees you have.
You can find full details for employer contributions by clicking HERE.
Yes, we can 100% help you with the A2W application process through our carefully chosen associates to ensure you secure the funding to help you achieve your potential. You can find out more by clicking the A2W support package page above. Support starts from £50 up to £175 per application.
There is funding of up to £66,000.00 per person available through Access to Work. This resource is too good not to tap into and help you succeed.
